Frequently asked questions

Can overclocking damage my card?

The settings Phoenix applies never go beyond the range your card’s manufacturer allows, and a stability test runs before anything is applied. Still, any change to hardware carries a small risk, which is why you can put everything back the way it was with one click, anytime. Results also vary from card to card, since they depend on your card’s own silicon.

Why does it need admin rights to install?

Windows doesn’t allow reading temperatures, controlling fans or blocking apps’ internet access without elevated permissions. A small service is installed alongside the app, and that’s all it does.

Do I need Telegram?

No, most of the app works without Telegram. But alerts are delivered through Telegram, so if you don’t connect it, you’ll miss them.

Does it work on laptops?

Yes, but on laptops, fan control and GPU tuning depend on the laptop manufacturer and aren’t always available.

I have an AMD card. Is it supported?

Yes. The RX 5000 series and newer are supported.

What happens if my subscription ends?

Free features keep working and your settings aren’t deleted. Renew and you pick up right where you left off.
